Mike's role at Benefunder is to work with family offices, foundations and financial advisors to help them and their clients to create meaningful, long-term change in the causes they care most deeply about. By strengthening our relationships wth these communities, we facilitate higher client satisfaction, growing assets and preserving wealth.
Our focus on philanthropy through research, gives each Family Office and Foundation the opportunity to provide more tailored and meaningful ways to Find, Fund and Follow the causes their client cares most about. Mike will continue his outreach to offer webinars, white papers and one-on-one consultations to help create custom tailored plans for philanthropists to find some of the most exciting science and humanitarian break-throughs happening in the world.
Mike has over over a decade of experience in financial analysis and consulting. He started his career as an equities trader employing a long/short trading methodology utilizing a variety of pair trading and black box quantitative strategies. Afterwards he spent over seven years as an alternative investment consultant where he analyzed a wide spectrum of hedge and private equity funds and consulted with a variety of family office and institutional allocators.
He spent several years as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch and Citi where he created and implemented asset allocation strategies, worked with clients to optimize their debt structure and did syndicate work.
Mike lives in San Diego and in his free time enjoys surfing, fishing and jiu jitsu.
Mike has a degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, is a CAIA charter holder (2007) and he is currently a CFA Level III Candidate.
